4th Annual 2 Rivers St Jude Bass Tournament
2012, 4th Annual St. Jude Bass Fishing Tournament News.......
Local teams of bass anglers flocked to the Potomac River in Brunswick on Saturday, February 4, 2012 to participate in the 4th Annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Bass Tournament to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which raised $1,921from the anglers and 50/50 raffle with Doug Zittle and Jason Barrick donating a portion of their winning and David Burdette and Butch Capino donating back their winnings which will help benefit the young patients of St. Jude. As engines roared off, leaving behind the waves of not only the desire for the big catch, but the ripples of their philanthropic duty.
The event was not only filled with water sports, sponsors such as The Anglers; Mayor Jones and Councilman Stull, City of Brunswick; Skeeter Boats; Jim "Pint" Kline, Leather Crafts; K&R Engraving; HBI Roll Offs; World Fishing Network; Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Company; Brunswick Police Department; Rob Shaffer; Wiley-X; Sam, Toni & Josh Donini; Tim Moore; Roy and Matt Hoffman; Maryland DNR; and Sam Baker gave a helping hand, prizes were provided to the fisherman, volunteers, and all involved. “This is our 4th year hosting this event that has raised to date $6,121 for St. Jude. We are blessed to have such a caring community of sportsmen/women. The fishing community is one of the most generous and compassionate groups you could ever be a part of, we thank each one of you from the bottom of our hearts " stated organizers Dave & Mary Baker, “the fishing community & sponsors recognize the work St. Jude Children's Hospital performs and are eager to support this event every year!” St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
